Webinar Description
Dental implant therapy has few absolute contraindications. However, we must often change our treatment protocols to improve outcomes in patients who are medically compromised. Patients at risk for failures or increased complications include smokers, diabetics, patients with osteoporosis, patients with autoimmune diseases, and many others. But how do we know how to change our protocols? Is allowing longer time for healing adequate? Do we need prophylactic antibiotics? What additional information is needed from the patient’s physician? This presentation is a follow-up to the previous discussion on medical risk factors in the surgical implant patient. Here, we will discuss common medical problems and patients with medical risk factors and propose treatment protocols to improve outcomes. Learning Objectives: • This lecture will discuss specific protocols to minimize failures in medically compromised patients. • This lecture will provide treatment protocols to minimize complications and improve implant therapy. 1 CE Credit Hour | Free *You will receive a Verification of Course Attendance via email after you complete and pass the quiz.
